George Stadnik has worked as a Lumia artist since 1968. Creating light instruments, still and moving images, and live performances enabled him to gain an understanding of relationships between light, time and perception. Using commercial software, Stadnik built virtual opto-mechanical constructions that simulate the properties of light and transform perceptions of time. Inventions, exhibits and performances include: The Photon Guitar; Lumiagraphs; “Primordial Soup” at the New Television Workshop; NY Avant Garde Festivals; Multi-media events and performances in New England and New York City.
